US broadcaster Anna Kasparian, one of the hosts of The Young Turks, cried on air after showing a video message addressed to her by children from Gaza, accompanied by a drawing they had made for her.
The message was organized by the Survivors’ Echoes group, formed by children who survived the war in Gaza in February. Kasparian said she felt proud of the gesture but was also angry because the destruction inflicted on the Gaza Strip was funded by the tax money she pays as a US citizen.
The video spreads widely
Her co-host, Cenk Uygur, said the rest of the world should be ashamed for failing to help these children. The video spread widely across social media platforms in recent days.
Kasparian, who is of Armenian descent, is known for her sharp criticism of US policy supporting Israel and the war in Gaza.
