Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his address to the plenary session of the eighth summit of heads of state and government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Moscow that Russia is considering cooperation with U.S. partners in the Arctic.
Putin added: “We are actively working in the Arctic with many countries around the world, and we are interested in joint work. Until recently, European partners were working with us at our fields, and Chinese partners are working there. We are now considering the possibility of joint work with U.S. partners.”
He said Russia had developed its own technologies for producing liquefied natural gas, which are already being used in the harsh conditions of the Arctic, affirming his country’s openness to exchanging gas-sector technologies with the forum’s member states.
