The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said 13 attacks had been carried out against farmers and activists heading to harvest olives in the West Bank. The commission said the attacks were carried out by Israeli soldiers and Israelis who had settled on Palestinian land.
One of the incidents took place in the Masafer Yatta area of the southern West Bank. According to a written statement by legal activist Osama Mahatira, two Palestinian youths traveling by tractor had their way blocked and were stopped.
Muhammad Yusuf Mahamira, who was on the tractor, was beaten and then detained by Israeli soldiers. Issa Awad, who was with him, suffered an eye injury after being beaten and was taken to hospital.
Attacks targeting the olive harvest
The commission said farmers and activists supporting them were injured in attacks it said took place in four cities, and that one Palestinian was detained.

The statement said crops and agricultural vehicles were stolen during the attacks, while some vehicles were damaged. It added that farmers were also prevented from reaching their land.
Alleged new unauthorized settlement
The commission said a new unauthorized settlement had been established in areas containing olive trees in the Wadi al-Ahmar region, between the villages of Yasuf and Marda, north of Salfit.
It also said two unauthorized settlements had been established in the cities of Jericho and al-Bireh. The settlements were initially created with tents, shacks or container homes, after which roads and infrastructure services were brought to the area, the commission said.
The structures were later converted into reinforced-concrete homes, the settlements were removed from unauthorized status, and the seizure of Palestinian land continued, it said.
