Trump says he will respect midterm results if elections are fair
U.S. President Donald Trump said he would respect the results of the congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3 “if they are fair,” adding that he would find a way to work with Democrats if they won a majority.
U.S. President Donald Trump, responding to a question about whether he would respect the results of the congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3, said: “If the elections are fair, I will respect them.”
Trump made the remarks to reporters at the airport before leaving Washington for a campaign rally in Texas. Asked how he would work with Democrats if they won a majority in Congress, he said: “We will find a way.”
Trump said he had strong veto power and that many presidents had faced a similar situation, expressing his belief that an agreement could ultimately be reached.
Polls indicate that a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives is almost certain, while the race for the Senate appears close.
