Türkiye condemns church attack in Karak, stands with Jordan
Türkiye condemned the armed attack targeting a church in Jordan’s Karak Governorate and expressed solidarity with the Jordanian people. The death toll rose to 8, while an earlier statement said 27 people had been injured.
Following the armed attack targeting a church in Jordan’s Karak Governorate, Türkiye said it stood in solidarity with Jordan and its people.
The Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and offered condolences to the families of those killed and to the Jordanian people. The ministry also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The ministry’s statement emphasized that solidarity would continue in the face of the attack targeting Jordan’s unity and peace.
Jordan’s health minister said the death toll from the attack had risen to 8. Obeidallah Maaytah, director of Jordan’s Public Security Directorate, had announced in an earlier statement that 7 people had been killed and 27 injured.
