The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) established a pilot unit for mixing concentrated feed at the Sectoral Center for Vocational Agricultural Training in Field Crops in Bou Salem, Tunisia.
The center operates under Tunisia's Agency for Agricultural Extension and Training, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries. It is the country's only public institution in this field. The new unit has enabled modern agricultural practices, including silage production, baling and concentrated-feed mixing, to be incorporated into the training curriculum, allowing students to turn their theoretical knowledge into practical field experience.

The center has an applied training farm covering about 180 hectares. It provides practical training each year for around 200 students in formal programs and more than 300 participants in continuing education. The project aims to improve training quality, support local feed production, reduce post-harvest losses and lower production costs.
The project also seeks to improve farmers' and livestock breeders' knowledge of modern feed-production techniques in the region and provide sustainable support for the livestock sector.
