Türkiye’s ambassador to Jordan, Hakan Karatçay, said around 100 Turkish companies operate in the kingdom through direct investments or partnerships with Jordanians, while trade between the two countries exceeded $2 billion last year.
Speaking at a reception hosted by the embassy in Amman on Thursday to mark the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, Karatçay said bilateral trade rose by 20% during the first eight months of this year compared with the same period last year.
The ambassador said Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet and Pegasus, along with Royal Jordanian and Jordan Aviation, operate a combined 124 flights a week between the two countries, noting that air connectivity and visa exemptions are creating broader opportunities for tourism.

He added that the Yunus Emre Cultural Centre in Amman ranks third worldwide in the number of Turkish-language learners, and that next year will mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In a related development, the new board of the Turkish-Jordanian Business Association elected Selim Dada as president by acclamation and Jamal Friz as vice president. Established in 2023, the association brings together businesspeople, investors and Turkish companies operating in Jordan, as well as Jordanian companies interested in the Turkish market. It works to remove obstacles facing investors and expand communication between companies in the two countries.
