Türkiye's Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) announced that it had completed construction of a facility in Jordan for filling and assembling medium- and large-caliber ammunition and aircraft bombs, and that the facility had reached the final stage before operations begin.
The announcement, reported by Anadolu Agency, was made during the SOFEX 2026 defense industry exhibition held in Aqaba from October 27 to 29. The company did not disclose the facility's production capacity, investment value or production start date.
The facility is the company's second in Jordan, following a small-arms ammunition plant that has been operating since 2024. In July 2024, MKE signed an agreement to establish filling and assembly lines for 81 mm and 120 mm mortar shells, 155 mm artillery shells, and MK81, MK82 and MK84 aircraft bombs.

MKE says it trains personnel in production and maintenance and provides technical support. Discussions are continuing over a maintenance contract for the existing facilities and a new plant for raw materials. The company is implementing 11 technology-transfer projects in nine countries, some completed and others ongoing.
MKE operates under Türkiye's Ministry of National Defence. At SOFEX 2026, it displayed models of its ammunition ranging from 25 to 120 mm, as well as an MK82 bomb.
