Saudi Arabia asked Syria to send military personnel to participate in the confrontation with the Houthis in Yemen, but Damascus rejected the request.
Türkiye Today reported, citing Syrian sources, that Riyadh had requested the deployment of an organized Syrian force to Yemen, but the Syrian authorities did not agree to participate.
Saudi request was made several months ago

Syrian sources who spoke to Türkiye Today said the Saudi request had been submitted to the Syrian authorities several months ago.
A Syrian source said Damascus rejected the request, explaining that the matter was closed for now.
According to the source, the Syrian authorities told the Saudi side that their priority was to reorganize and rebuild their armed forces and that they did not want to enter a military conflict outside the country as a third party.
Damascus rejected sending an organized military force
The sources said the Syrian authorities refused to allow an organized military unit to be sent to Yemen.
At the same time, they clarified that the government's position differed regarding individuals who might leave the country independently to participate in conflicts outside Syria.
The source stressed that the Syrian government would not be responsible for activities these individuals might undertake outside the country.
Turkish sources deny sending Syrian fighters to Yemen
The report also addressed claims of a Turkish role in organizing or sending Syrian fighters to Yemen.

Türkiye Today quoted Turkish sources as denying Turkey's involvement in such an operation and saying that there was no organized Turkish program to transport Syrian fighters to Yemen.
Regional sources monitoring developments in Yemen also denied the existence of an organized Turkish operation to transport Syrians to conflict zones.
Saudi Arabia is considering different military options
According to the sources, Saudi Arabia continues to examine options for securing military support and training personnel from various countries amid developments involving the Houthis in Yemen.
These moves come as the region experiences growing security and military tensions.
Pakistan among the options under consideration
The sources said Pakistan was among the countries with which Saudi Arabia had held discussions about military support.
A spokesman for the Pakistani army also said that his country would make efforts to defend Saudi Arabia's security.
Claims of a Turkish role

Turkish and regional sources who spoke to Türkiye Today said claims that Syrian fighters were being sent to Yemen alongside Turkish personnel did not reflect reality.
According to the report, any possible role for Turkey or Pakistan could focus on defensive missions, including protecting energy facilities, strategic sites and vital centers, rather than direct participation in ground operations.
