Turkish club Trabzonspor has put on sale a head covering inspired by the nickname of its Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, “the Egyptian Pharaoh,” at its TS Club stores and official online shop for 1,699.99 Turkish liras.
The design resembles the nemes headdress worn by pharaohs in ancient Egypt. Claret and blue stripes extend from both sides of the head to the shoulders, while the club crest is centered on the front. It is available in two sizes.

A pharaoh-themed welcome at the airport
The idea gained momentum after Salah arrived in Trabzon, when a fan welcomed him at the airport wearing a pharaoh costume and dancing the famous folk dance kolbastı from the Black Sea region. The video spread widely.
Salah has been producing an impressive performance for his team this season. He scored from the penalty spot in Trabzonspor’s 2-0 win over Hearts in the UEFA Conference League, ending the club’s 13-year wait to score a penalty in European competitions.
