The Turkish Community in Qatar hosted a celebratory breakfast at Parisa restaurant to mark Türkiye's Republic Day. More than 100 Turkish citizens living in the country gathered around one table in a hall decorated with Turkish flags, red and white carnations in the colors of the flag, and a decorated loaf of bread bearing the Turkish inscription “Happy Republic Day on October 29.”
In an unannounced gesture, Türkiye's ambassador to Qatar, Yakup Caymazoğlu, and his wife, Miral Caymazoğlu, made a surprise visit to the breakfast venue. The community said the visit honored those present and added a special touch to the joy of the Republic Day celebration, expressing its sincere thanks to the couple for the gracious visit.
The ambassador addressed the participants with his wife by his side, while those seated around the tables listened.
A raffle becomes a tradition
After breakfast, the community held its raffle, which it said had become a regular tradition at its gatherings. Five families each won dinner for four, with support from Bursa Kebap Evi in Qatar, which the community thanked for its contribution.

The ambassador and his wife posed for commemorative photographs with the winners, who held their prize cards. Many attendees, both adults and children, wore red shirts bearing the crescent and star.

A call for continued solidarity
The community expressed hope that solidarity, friendship and mutual support among members of the Turkish community in Qatar would continue and grow stronger. It thanked all the guests whose participation brought joy to the day, expressed its wish to meet again at other occasions and events, and concluded with the phrase “Long live the Republic.”

Turks celebrate the anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic in 1923 on October 29 each year, and this year marks its 103rd anniversary. The Turkish Embassy in Doha marked the occasion with a reception, while the Turkish school in Qatar celebrated it with an exhibition of drawings featuring Atatürk and the Turkish flag.
