The Turkish Armed Forces conducted drills off the Libyan coast, with the frigate Turgut Reis, operating within Türkiye's Naval Task Group in Libya, taking part. Photos and statements published by Turkish military sources showed the exercises.
The drills included helicopter landings and takeoffs aboard the frigate, vertical replenishment and training for loss of visual contact, as well as fire-support exercises involving a Turkish Naval Special Forces team.

Türkiye's Naval Task Group in Libya operates under the 2019 memorandum of understanding on security and military cooperation signed by Ankara and Tripoli. It provides training and advisory support to Libyan forces.
The drills came days after Libya's House of Representatives approved the memorandum of understanding on the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas between the two countries.
