The Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications organized a seminar in Ankara titled “From Zero Waste to COP31: Türkiye's Climate Diplomacy,” where it launched the book “Climate Diplomacy.” Murat Kurum, the minister of environment, urbanization and climate change and president of COP31, took part in the program.
Director Burhanettin Duran said that, beyond its environmental dimension, climate change is directly linked to global justice, international cooperation and security. He expressed hope that the book would contribute to policymaking.

Duran said Türkiye continues to combat climate change in line with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2053, adding that the Zero Waste movement has given Türkiye distinctive soft power in climate diplomacy.
Antalya is scheduled to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP31 from November 9 to 20. Duran said the conference would give Türkiye an important opportunity to present its vision of climate diplomacy to the international community, adding that the goal is to accelerate the transformation of international commitments into tangible results and strengthen cooperation among countries.
