Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said Iraq would not allow its territory to be used as a launchpad for attacks or actions threatening the security of Saudi Arabia or other countries in the region. He made the remarks during a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
Hussein condemned the attacks targeting civilian sites in Saudi Arabia and rejected any harm to civilians and civilian facilities. Faisal bin Farhan, for his part, affirmed the Kingdom's support for the Iraqi government's efforts to reduce tensions, stressing the importance of continuing joint work with neighboring countries to strengthen security and stability in the region.

The two ministers discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop cooperation in various fields, particularly security.
Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi rejected the use of Iraqi territory to attack Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh. He also condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi civilian facilities.
In September, Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline came under attack by drones launched from Iraq. The Iraqi government later announced that its investigations showed the attacks had originated from a site in Maysan province in the south of the country.
