A new book by investigative journalist Matthew Cole claims that Dutch intelligence hacked the phone of Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law and former adviser, and monitored him accessing a Dubai bank account containing hundreds of millions of dollars, according to an excerpt published by Vanity Fair.
Cole wrote that a source he considered reliable told him in spring 2020 that the money in the account had come from a bank in Azerbaijan, and that Kushner appeared to be transferring large sums to other people, including a warlord, a mercenary and a former hitman. The excerpt's headline says the transfers exceeded $700 million and that the accounts linked Kushner to Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The book, "Princes and Plunderers," examines Kushner and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. It is scheduled for publication on October 27. Cole also claims that Saudi and Emirati leaders deposited at least $2 billion into accounts benefiting Kushner.
Kushner called the allegations "completely insane" and "outrageous and unequivocally false," while his lawyer said no such accounts exist. No bank records were published with the excerpt, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
