Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted an AI-generated image on Sunday showing an atomic bomb falling on Tel Aviv, two days before the Knesset election scheduled for Tuesday, 27 October, Israeli website Ynet reported.
The post included a warning from Israeli writer and commentator Yuval Bloomberg, who said that “the State of Israel faces a real and tangible existential threat” and that “if the Iranians acquire nuclear weapons, nothing else will matter.” The post said Israel had only two years under U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to deal with the Iranian threat, describing internal disputes as “a massive smokescreen” concealing the most important issue.

Yair Golan, leader of the Democrats Party and a former deputy chief of staff, criticized the post, saying: “I call for its removal from social media.” He accused Netanyahu of trying to frighten voters, adding: “On Tuesday, we will replace those who spread panic and restore security and sanity to Israel.”
Netanyahu focused his campaign on the Iranian nuclear threat, saying it should be Israel’s top priority. The latest opinion polls before the start of the media blackout period showed that neither camp would secure a majority in the Knesset.
