Tens of thousands protested in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, three days before Israel's general election. Organizers estimated that more than 100,000 people took part, while police issued no estimate.
The protest was organized by the "October Council," which includes families of people killed in the October 7, 2023, attack. Participants called for an official inquiry into the security failures linked to the attack and criticized Netanyahu's refusal to establish such a commission.

Opposition leaders attend
Bereaved families, released hostages and residents of communities bordering Gaza took part in the protest, along with opposition leaders including Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, Yair Golan and Yair Lapid.
Police announced the arrest of a suspect accused of assaulting the security team of a public figure in Tel Aviv. Israeli media reported that the targeted figure was Naftali Bennett.
Opinion polls show a very close contest between Netanyahu's right-wing camp, which has been in power since late 2022, and that of his main rival, Gadi Eisenkot.
