The Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs received the remains of Jadallah Jihad Juma Jadallah, from Tubas province in the northern occupied West Bank, after approximately nine months.
Jadallah lived in the Far'a Refugee Camp, and his remains had been held by Israeli authorities since November 16, 2025. The authority said the remains were received on Thursday and would be buried in accordance with arrangements to be determined by the family.
Remains of 799 Palestinians still being held
The National Campaign to Recover Martyrs' Remains, which works to recover the remains of Palestinians, said Israeli authorities continue to hold the remains of 799 Palestinians. The figure includes 80 children and detainees.
The remains also include those of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The identities of some individuals and the conditions in which the remains are being held have not been disclosed.
Attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank
Following the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers against Palestinians increased in the occupied West Bank.
The attacks include raids on Palestinian cities, towns and refugee camps, as well as actions targeting Palestinians and their property.
The Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs said it would continue its efforts to receive the remains of Palestinians held by Israeli authorities.
