The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Mali’s capital, Bamako, marked the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye at a ceremony it said was attended by a large gathering of Malian guests, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Mali and Turkish citizens.
The embassy expressed its “deep gratitude” to all the “Malian brothers and sisters,” members of the diplomatic corps and Turkish citizens who joined it in celebrating the occasion.

Malian minister represents government
Moussa Ag Al Taher, Minister for Malians Abroad and African Integration, represented the Malian government at the ceremony. The embassy specifically thanked him for attending on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Mali.
Photos from the ceremony showed Malian guests in traditional clothing and white turbans posing for commemorative photographs with embassy representatives in front of a screen displaying black-and-white footage. The hall, decorated in red and white, was filled with attendees.

Direct flights and scholarships
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Turkish Airlines has operated direct flights to Bamako since May 2015, while Malian students have benefited from Türkiye Scholarships since 1992. Bilateral trade reached $165 million in 2022.
